Lost a TON on Mounjaro!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
The access path varies a lot - some people go through telehealth for the script, others source directly when insurance won't cover or the script isn't happening. The 18lbs already is solid early momentum.

The combination of active baseline plus intake reduction without calorie tracking is actually optimal for body composition on Mounjaro - the workout stimulus is preserved while the overeating that was previously offsetting it gets removed. The 22kg without changing exercise is the clean version of that outcome.

416 in November 2022 then Mounjaro at 345 in October 2023 and 188 this morning is 228 total lost!! That's one of the most complete long-game stories on here. Starting with keto for the first leg and then the medication for the second leg is exactly how it can work when you build the foundation first!!

100 to 90kg from February with Mounjaro starting it out is a solid beginning. 462 to 290 for the OP is a different scale but the same mechanism. The swim and walk combination alongside the medication is exactly the activity level that tends to keep things moving. How's the pace holding up now?

Sharing the dose question for someone starting at your weight is tricky because the effective range varies so much by individual response. Most people titrate gradually and find their effective level - pushing to the higher end isn't automatic. The swim plus walk combination you're doing alongside is doing a lot of the work too.

15kg in 6 months from 110 is a 14% loss which is actually solid - the disappointment usually comes from comparing to faster results you see posted. 110 to 95 at 6 months is a different trajectory than 462 to 290 but the OP's starting point means the weekly numbers look more dramatic. What dose are you at and is the appetite side still active?

I'd be cautious recommending jumping to 7.5mg. We don't actually know OP's TDEE, but given how much exercise is involved, it sounds like they're already undereating. Also unclear how much appetite suppression or mental food chatter they're dealing with.

Speaking only for myself here. Running roughly 1200-1400kcal daily, mental chatter around food is completely gone, and I have to force myself to eat or an entire day could pass without a bite (: Bumping mounjaro higher would probably tip me into overdoing it! And still, zero movement across weeks 4, 5, and 6. Probably hormones or my body retaining fluid because of this heatwave we're stuck in. Sticking with 2.5mg a bit longer, and if nothing changes I'll bump to 3mg.

Dealing with ADHD alongside type 2 diabetes, and have been running the dual-action medication for a year now, currently at a higher amount, and I've lost just over 51 pounds.

Starting out at a small amount, results came fast at first, roughly a pound and a half weekly right out of the gate, but that eased off substantially over the two months after. (Oddly enough, my worst stretch for actual progress landed at a middle-tier dose.) Side effects peaked once I reached the higher amount, and onions have basically become my nemesis ever since. (Digestive enzymes ease that, assuming I don't forget to take them, which happens. Skip them, and it's sulfur-smelling burps plus a lot of bathroom time. Now clearing that up requires stacking two separate over-the-counter remedies together. One product just trapped the gas inside instead of fixing anything, thoroughly miserable.)

My doctor has also floated the theory that my slower pace connects specifically to the diabetes diagnosis, since she's watched other patients in that same situation lose more gradually compared to patients using this purely for weight without diabetes in the mix. Motivating myself to move around more stays a genuine struggle thanks to executive dysfunction.

As for the ADHD side, got hit with an intense anxiety surge during roughly the opening month, and found others describing that identical experience online. Currently not on any AD

Can't say for certain what portion of this connects to perimenopause, but figured I'd share my own case regardless.

Just turned 60, female, and dropped 107 pounds across the past thirteen months with fifteen left to reach goal.

On hormone therapy, switched from oral to patches recently after being told the medication can reduce oral absorption.

My take is you're already losing a meaningful amount, twelve pounds over two and a half months, so try to give yourself credit for that progress.

Also, what you're describing around low motivation sounds a lot like my own experience with blunted mood. Just not caring about exercising even knowing I should, no real spark of joy anywhere. That fog's been lifting for me as I gradually reduce my dose heading toward goal. Peaked around 12.5mg, currently at 10mg. Recently felt genuinely motivated enough to plan some outdoor adventure trips for summer, which felt wonderful. So things should improve for you too, in my opinion.

Fatigue and general tiredness are also real on this medication. Hits me specifically on days two and three.

Lastly, constipation. Struggled badly with it early on before finding my own fix. Every morning, right at the start of the day, I take two psyllium husk capsules alongside a large coffee with milk and follow it with a big glass of plain water. Most days that gets things moving
